Espresso Martini

2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. coffee liqueur
1 1/2 oz. freshly brewed strong espresso
Splash of cream (optional)

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass.

Garnish with two or three coffee beans and / or shaved chocolate.

For the Mocktail:

1/2 oz. coffee simple syrup (made from ½ cup of espresso and sugar)
2 1/2 oz. freshly brewed strong espresso
1 full dropper of aromatic bitters
Splash of cream (optional)

For the simple syrup, combine equal parts espresso and sugar (Alternatively you can use water and instant espresso) and bring to a simmer on the stove top. Simmer for 2 minutes. Cool and store covered in your refrigerator.
