Hersheypark, With a Different Perspective
If it’s been years since your last visit to Hersheypark, you may be surprised by how much fun it can be as an adult. Visit on a weekday or later in the day, and you can spend a few hours enjoying the rides without making the park the focus of your entire trip.
Hersheypark has plenty of thrills for adults, from Candymonium and Wildcat’s Revenge to the water attractions at The Boardwalk. Spend a few hours enjoying the rides, then head out for dinner and drinks in Hershey to finish the evening.
Hershey Wineries, Breweries, and Cocktails
If you enjoy a good drink, you’ll have plenty of options around Hershey and Harrisburg. There are many local wineries, breweries, and restaurants with dedicated cocktail menus, so it’s easy to build an afternoon around a tasting or find somewhere to stop for a cocktail before dinner.
Waltz Vineyards is one of our personal favorites for wine. Their estate winery in Manheim has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and a welcoming tasting room that makes it a lovely place to spend an afternoon. For beer, Tröegs Independent Brewing is right here in Hershey and has a great selection alongside its brewery, taproom, and scratch-made food.
If cocktails are more your style, Reunion Cocktails & Provisions is a fun choice for a night out, and Devon Seafood & Steak has an extensive cocktail menu to pair with dinner.

Outdoor Adventures
Some of the best things to do in Hershey are as simple as stepping outside. Hershey Gardens is beautiful throughout the year, from spring tulips to colorful fall foliage, while the Butterfly Atrium offers a warm, tropical escape in every season. It’s an especially nice place to spend an afternoon together when you want somewhere beautiful to explore without a set itinerary.
There are also plenty of hiking trails around Hershey and Harrisburg, ranging from easy walks around the water to more challenging trails with views of the Susquehanna River. If you’d rather be on the water, kayaking the Conodoguinet or Swatara Creek is another peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
Spa Days and Self-Care
A weekend away is a good excuse to make time for something you might normally put off. Hershey has several spas offering massages, facials, and other treatments, along with yoga studios and wellness services.

You’ll find many Hershey museums near our inn, but the AACA Museum is one of our favorites, housing an impressive collection of antique and classic automobiles, from early horseless carriages to muscle cars. Its beautifully curated exhibits make it an interesting stop even if you wouldn’t consider yourself a car enthusiast.
If you enjoy antique shopping, spend an afternoon exploring the area’s shops, where you’ll find everything from vintage furniture and estate jewelry to one-of-a-kind treasures.
For book lovers, we always recommend making the trip to Midtown Scholar in Harrisburg. It’s a beautiful independent bookstore with plenty to browse, and an easy place to spend an hour or two before heading to lunch or dinner.
Catch a Show or a Game
There’s almost always something happening around Hershey when it comes to live entertainment. Hersheypark Stadium brings in major touring musicians, while Hershey Theatre hosts Broadway productions, concerts, comedians, and other performances throughout the year. You might also find live music if you’re visiting one of the local wineries or restaurants.
If you’re visiting during hockey season, plan to attend a Hershey Bears game at Giant Center. Even if you’re not a big hockey fan, it’s hard not to get caught up in the excitement once you’re in the arena.
