Warm Up Your Fall & Winter with a Culinary Retreat in Hershey, PA

When the air turns crisp and cozy, weekends call, there’s no better place to escape than Hershey, Pennsylvania — especially when paired with a fun culinary experience like no other.

The Winter Table at Church Road is a limited-time getaway designed for couples who love food, learning, and a little indulgence. This two-night culinary retreat and class blends hands-on kitchen skills with relaxation in the comfort of our charming inn.

Hannah has cooked professionally and has taught classes locally for many years, and the question guests ask most often after breakfast is how she made it. These weekends are the answer. Three times a year, we open our kitchen for participatory cooking classes, where you work alongside Hannah instead of watching a YouTube video.

Groups stay small, so there is room to ask questions and time to actually learn the technique. You cook, you taste, and you sit down together afterward. Many guests have become lifelong friends after the classes.

How the Weekends Work

Each retreat pairs a stay in one of our 5 suites with participatory classes led by Hannah. Mornings start with a seasonal-inspired breakfast: house-made yogurt and granola to begin, then a main. Evenings wind down by the fire.

Classes are participatory. You will be at the counter with a knife in your hand, working through each step with Hannah.

These are the cookies you save a picture of and never quite manage to make yourself. This weekend fixes that. You will have the best-looking cookies on your Instagram after this class!

Friday night is dough making, with a holiday charcuterie spread and a cocktail or mocktail while you work.

Saturday, you will roll and bake with our 10-inch specialty holiday cookie cutters, then move on to royal icing. Hannah covers consistency, piping, flooding, and the small tricks that separate a good cookie from the ones you might see online. A house-made hot chocolate bar runs alongside the decorating, and the recipe goes home with you.

We are currently sold out for this class, but email us, and we can add you to the wait list if someone cancels.

Good to Know

Classes are limited to 8 participants, which keeps the counter workable and the pace unhurried. Packages are for couples; bring a friend, spouse, or significant other. Every class is participatory, meaning guests take part in the preparation rather than watching a demonstration.

These weekends suit couples and friends who enjoy cooking. We welcome dietary needs with advance notice, so tell us when you book.

Slow Mornings, Seasonal Recipes & Lasting Memories

Each morning begins with a hearty breakfast, and your Saturday ends with winter-inspired small bites and recipes you can take home. With late checkout on Sunday, there’s time to linger, reflect, and maybe even plan your return visit.

Space is extremely limited for this seasonal series. Whether you’re treating yourself or surprising someone special, The Winter Table at Church Road offers the perfect balance of relaxation and learning — all in the heart of Hershey.
